(Update: Today, Dec 1st, 2010 California's DPR approved methyl iodide. Urge Gov-elect Jerry Brown to reverse this decision. Take action here: http://action.panna.org/p/dia/action/public/?action_KEY=5123 )
Late last week, the California Department of Pesticide Regulation (DPR) publicly confirmed that it plans to decide on methyl iodide before year’s end. If we want to avoid a last-minute approval during the lame-duck days of the Schwarzenegger administration, we must turn up the heat on this issue.
Mary-Ann Warmerdam, Director of DPR, needs to know that cowing to industry pressure to approve methyl iodide is unacceptable and will be met with public outcry. Email Mary-Ann Warmerdam and tell her to say no to methyl iodide.
